For Short Term Hires:

Equipment should not be dropped, stepped on, exposed to moisture, rain or kept in extreme temperatures (below 5 degrees Centigrade or above 50 Degrees Centigrade) or left on for more than 24 hours at a stretch. failure to comply will risk the damaging of equipment and possibly cause malfunction. Upon diagnosis, we can easily detect types of damage and how they occurred.

For Long Term Hires:

Headsets

Equipment should not be dropped on the ground or into boxes, stepped on or exposed to moisture.

Clean headsets after every session using non alcoholic damp wipes. Oils should be removed to elongate the life of the ear muffs. Failure to o so will mean ear muffs degrade quicker.

Store all headsets in a dry environment away from extreme temperatures (below 5 degrees Centigrade or above 50 Degrees Centigrade)

Test All headsets regularly to ensure:

  • all channels glow correct colours (red, blue, green)

  • for all channels the correct audio is received

  • charging of each headset is completing with the light turning from red to green once charged

  • Isolate and keep aside any headsets that do not glow green after more than 4 hours of charging (do not use these)

  • Isolate and keep aside any headsets that constantly glow green, even when they are not charged but are plugged in to chargers (do not use these)

Transmitters

Should not be left on for more than 24 hours at a stretch

Heat sinks on transmitters must not be obstructed from dissipating heat

Do not overdrive the transmitters (use a limiter and do not red-line the mixer)

Test all transmitters to ensure there is no crackling or hiss present

Use a slightly higher volume on the mixer but 3/4 volume on the headset to set the correct volume

Unplug all transmitters from power once used (do not leave them plugged in to power)

Store all transmitters in their cases whenever possible

Headset Chargers

To avoid electrocution or possible damage to the chargers or headsets, do not switch on chargers until plugging in or out of headsets has been completed.

Chargers are not to be switched on continuously - disconnect them after a maximum of 24hrs

Each headset should take a maximum of 5 hours to charge a set of headphones (3hrs is optimal) - charging will be indicated on each headset: red = not charged and green = fully charged

Chargers must not be dropped or exposed to moisture and extreme temperatures (below 5 degrees Centigrade or above 50 Degrees Centigrade)

Other Equipment

Speakers

Need to be used with the stands they come with or placed carefully on stage so that they are not damaged

Must be returned clean and unbroken

Must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, rain or moisture

Must be moved carefully using their handles and not dropped or thrown during transport or setup

Lighting and Lasers

Do not drop lights - handle with care

Must be returned clean and unbroken

Must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, rain or moisture

Cables

Are to be wound up in a circular loop and returned clean and unbroken - no tape is to be used to keep them together

Whenever necessary, for the safety of patrons, ensure the cables are run in cable protectors or are at least sealed with Duct Tape to reduce damage through tripping and to prevent falls and accidents
